About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our growing clinic team. Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist, you will provide essential occupational therapy services to patients of all ages, from children to adults, in the patient’s home. You will play a vital role in helping individuals develop essential skills, regain lost abilities, and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques and evidence-based approaches within the clinic environment.
- Work directly with patients and their families, providing instruction and support in activities of daily living, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive skills, and sensory processing.
- Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate and engage patients and caregivers in the treatment process, providing them with strategies and resources to support their ongoing progress.
- Collaborate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist, Speech and Physical Therapists, and other members of the patient’s care team within the clinic setting.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment interventions.
- Participate in clinic upkeep and organization, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for patients.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Valid and current state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Demonstrated ability to implement treatment plans effectively and work collaboratively with a supervising therapist.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient engagement skills.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones, age-related conditions, and appropriate assessment tools.
