About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join
our growing clinic team. Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist, you
will provide essential occupational therapy services to patients of all ages, from children to
adults, in the patient’s home. You will play a vital role in helping individuals develop
essential skills, regain lost abilities, and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
● Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist,
utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques and evidence-based approaches within
the clinic environment.
● Work directly with patients and their families, providing instruction and support in
activities of daily living, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive skills, and
sensory processing.
● Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising Occupational
Therapist.
● Educate and engage patients and caregivers in the treatment process, providing
them with strategies and resources to support their ongoing progress.
● Collaborate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist, Speech and
Physical Therapists, and other members of the patient’s care team within the clinic
setting.
● Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment
interventions.
● Participate in clinic upkeep and organization, ensuring a clean and welcoming
environment for patients.
Qualifications:
● Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
● Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
● Valid and current state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
● Demonstrated ability to implement treatment plans effectively and work
collaboratively with a supervising therapist.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient engagement skills.
● Experience working with diverse patient populations, including infants, toddlers,
children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
● Knowledge of developmental milestones, age-related conditions, and appropriate
assessment tools.
